President Mahama: Restoring Macroeconomic Stability is My Top Priority

Accra, Ghana – The President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, has reaffirmed his commitment to restoring macroeconomic stability, emphasizing that bold and strategic policies are required to revive the struggling economy.

According to the President, Ghana’s economic situation is dire, and his government is fully committed to implementing the necessary measures to turn things around.

Speaking at the launch of the National Economic Dialogue at the Accra International Conference Center (AICC), President Mahama stressed the importance of learning from the mistakes of past administrations to guide future economic decision-making.

“As President, I am committed to ensuring that the lessons learned from the economic crisis shape our decisions in the years ahead. Past mistakes must not define our future, and I vow to do everything I can to steer this nation toward a brighter, more prosperous path.”

A Call for Collective Effort in Economic Recovery

Acknowledging the challenges ahead, President Mahama urged Ghanaians to remain determined in their quest to rebuild the country’s economy.

“Fellow citizens, I know the road to economic recovery will be challenging, but we must not relent in our quest to rebuild the Ghana we all want for the sake of future generations.”

He further emphasized that economic resilience and sustainability are essential to creating a nation that provides real opportunities for every citizen.

“We owe it to ourselves, our children, and our country to rebuild an economy that is resilient, sustainable, and capable of delivering real opportunities for every citizen.”

Ensuring Fiscal Discipline for Economic Stability

President Mahama reiterated that restoring macroeconomic stability is his topmost priority and called on his government appointees to uphold fiscal discipline in all areas of governance.

“My priority as President is to restore macroeconomic stability. We must enforce responsible public financial management and ensure fiscal discipline at all levels of government while working to reduce hardships.”

The National Economic Dialogue serves as a critical platform to develop strategies for sustainable economic growth, as the government intensifies efforts to stabilize the economy and improve the lives of all Ghanaians.
