ASSIN BEREKU, Ghana, 26th June: President John Dramani Mahama has reiterated his commitment to improving infrastructure at Assin State College, fulfilling a pledge he made to the people of Assin North ahead of the 2024 general elections.
Speaking during the sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of a 24-Hour Economy Model Market at Assin Breku in the Assin North District of the Central Region, as part of his two-day #ResettingGhana Tour of the region, President Mahama assured residents that his government remains committed to enhancing educational infrastructure in the area.
According to the President, improving conditions at Assin State College was one of the promises he made during the 2024 election campaign, and his administration is taking concrete steps to deliver on that commitment.
“Before the 2024 elections, I promised the people of Assin North that we would invest in infrastructure to improve conditions at Assin State College,” President Mahama stated.
He revealed that the 2026 Budget has made provision for the construction of 30 new E-Blocks across the country to address infrastructure deficits in secondary schools, adding that Assin State College has been selected as one of the beneficiary institutions.
“I am happy to announce that this year’s budget has made provision for the construction of 30 new E-Blocks across the country, and Assin State College will be one of the beneficiaries,” he announced.
The President noted that the investment forms part of his administration’s broader agenda to strengthen the education sector by providing modern learning facilities that will enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
The announcement was welcomed by residents and stakeholders in the education sector, who believe the additional infrastructure will help improve the learning environment and accommodate the growing student population at the school.
President Mahama is currently undertaking a two-day #ResettingGhana Tour of the Central Region from Friday, June 26 to Saturday, June 27, 2026. The tour is aimed at inspecting ongoing projects, engaging local communities, and outlining his government’s development agenda for the region.
