
Cape Coast, Ghana – President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, has reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring the Komenda Sugar Factory becomes fully operational.
As part of his efforts, he has requested a comprehensive status update on the factory from the Minister of Trade and Agribusiness.
“I’ve asked the Minister of Trade and Agribusiness and Industry to provide me with a status update of the Komenda Sugar Factory,”he stated.
The President assured Ghanaians that his government remains determined to complete and operationalize the factory, positioning the Central Region as the largest producer of sugar in Ghana.
“We are determined to proceed and continue with that project so that the Central Region will become the biggest producer of sugar in Ghana,” he affirmed.
Additionally, President Mahama promised the upgrading of facilities at the Cape Coast Hospital to transform it into a fully equipped teaching hospital for the University of Cape Coast Medical School.
“We’ll also work closely to upgrade the facilities at the Cape Coast Hospital so that it can indeed be a real teaching hospital for the University of Cape Coast Medical School,” he said.
