SUNYANI, Ghana, 19 March: President John Dramani Mahama on Thursday, March 19, commenced his Bono Region Community Engagement Tour with a series of strategic project inspections and high-level public engagements in Sunyani.
The President began the day by inspecting ongoing GETFund projects at Sunyani Senior High School, where he assessed the pace and quality of infrastructure development aimed at enhancing teaching and learning conditions for students and staff.
He subsequently reviewed construction works on the Sunyani Outer Ring Road, a major infrastructure project expected to significantly ease traffic congestion, improve mobility, and support economic activity within the municipality.
As part of his tour, President Mahama also visited the proposed site for the new Sunyani Airport. The project is envisioned as a transformative initiative that will boost regional connectivity, attract investment, and position the Bono Region as a key economic hub.
The President later engaged residents, traditional leaders, and key stakeholders at the University of Energy and Natural Resources under his ‘Resetting Ghana’ Citizen Engagement series. The forum provided a platform for him to account directly to the people, outline his government’s development agenda, and receive valuable feedback from citizens.
Following the engagement, President Mahama proceeded to the Eusbett Hotel Conference Hall, where he presented grants to over 250 beneficiaries under the Adwumawura Programme.
The initiative is a flagship intervention focused on promoting entrepreneurship, creating jobs, and empowering the youth across the country.
