President Mahama Invites Czech Republic Government to Collaborate on Ghana’s 24-Hour Economy Policy

Accra, Ghana – President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, has expressed the government’s readiness to welcome the Czech Republic for collaboration on the proposed 24-hour Economy Policy, which focuses on unlocking exceptional opportunities for both Ghanaian and Czech enterprises.

Speaking at the Czech-Ghana Business Cooperation Seminar at the Mövenpick Hotel on Wednesday, April 8, President Mahama outlined the 24-hour economy policy as a comprehensive framework designed to enhance economic productivity, optimize infrastructure use, and create sustainable employment across multiple sectors.

“My government is embarking on a bold and visionary 24-hour economy policy, a comprehensive framework designed to maximize economic productivity, optimize infrastructure utilization, and create sustainable employment opportunities across multiple sectors,” he said.

The President emphasized that the policy is forward-thinking and aligns with the objectives of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), which aims to create a single integrated market for goods, services, and people across the continent.

“This forward-looking policy aligns with the transformative objectives of the African Continental Free Trade Area, which aims to create a single integrated market for goods, services, and people across our diverse continent,” he noted.

President Mahama further emphasized that the 24-hour economy policy targets strategic sectors that offer exceptional opportunities for collaboration between Ghanaian and Czech enterprises.

“The 24-hour economy policy focuses on strategic sectors that present exceptional opportunities for collaboration between Ghanaian and Czech enterprises,” he stated.

He highlighted Ghana’s growing position as a manufacturing hub in West Africa, particularly in manufacturing, automobile production, and agro-processing, stating that the country is not only serving the West African market but the entire African continent.

“In the area of manufacturing, automobile production, and agro-processing, Ghana is steadily positioning itself as a manufacturing hub in West Africa, not only for the West African market, but for Africa as a whole,” he said.

President Mahama also expressed interest in Czech expertise to support Ghana in adding substantial value to its agricultural products, benefitting both nations economically.

“We readily welcome Czech expertise in machinery, automotive components, and advanced agro-processing technologies to help Ghana add substantial value to our abundant agricultural produce and create integrated supply chains that benefit both our economies,” he added.
