Bolgatanga, Ghana – President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, has assured the people of the Upper East Region that they will receive their fair portion of the national cake, emphasizing his government’s commitment to equitable development.
According to him, Ghana’s progress depends on the shared efforts of all its people, working towards a common purpose and collective vision for prosperity.
Commitment to Development in the Upper East Region
Speaking at the Jubilee Park in Bolgatanga during his Thank You Tour to the region, President Mahama reaffirmed that the Upper East Region, like every other part of Ghana, deserves its fair share of development—not as a favor, but as a government obligation.
“The Upper East Region, like every other part of Ghana, deserves its fair share of development not as a favor but as my government’s actionable commitment to equitable investment in infrastructure, agriculture, health care, education, and social welfare, as a testament to our belief that no one should be left behind. And I pledge to the people of the Upper East Region that when the national cake is being shared, you will receive your fair portion,” he said.
A Call for Unity and Hope
He urged Ghanaians to move forward together, bound by a shared hope for a stronger and more equitable Ghana.
“Let us move forward together, bound by our shared hope for a stronger, more equitable Ghana,” he said.
President Mahama assured the people that his government is building a future where opportunities are not limited by geography.
“We’re building a future where opportunity is not determined by geography, where every child can dream beyond limitation, and where hard work is rewarded with dignity and progress. But this journey requires unity, patience, and unwavering faith,” he stated.
Governance with Fairness and Shared Prosperity
He further asked Ghanaians for their continued trust and support, promising that his administration will govern with fairness and inclusivity.
“As we continue on this journey, I ask for your continued trust and support, for my administration will govern with fairness—ensuring that every region, every community, and every citizen benefits from our nation’s resources, and not just a few people. Let us reject cynicism and embrace hope,” he said.
He encouraged collaborative efforts to build a country where the dreams of ordinary citizens are not only acknowledged but actively supported.
“Let us work together to build a country where the dreams of our farmers, traders, teachers, and youth are not just heard but are actively supported,” he continued.
A Vision for a Brighter Future
President Mahama concluded on a note of optimism, expressing hope that Ghana’s future will be one of equal opportunity, shared prosperity, and lasting peace.
“Our future is bright, and together, we will make Ghana a land of equal opportunity, shared prosperity, and lasting peace,” he said.
