President Mahama Advocates Character-Centred Leadership at Assemblies of God Faith Conference

President John Dramani Mahama has called on Ghanaians to demonstrate their faith through integrity, responsible leadership, and strong moral character, stressing that genuine faith is measured not by status or position but by one’s actions.

The President made the remarks on Saturday when he joined the Men’s Ministry of the Assemblies of God Church at the Gomoa Pentecost Convention Centre for its Faith Conference.

Addressing the congregation, President Mahama underscored the critical role of faith, character, and leadership in nation-building, noting that every generation requires men and women of strong faith and unwavering integrity.

He explained that titles, wealth, and political office do not define a person’s faith.

“Being President does not prove that I am a man of faith. It is my character and my works that will prove that I am a man of faith,” he stated.

President Mahama urged Ghanaians to express their faith through their daily conduct, including how they treat their spouses, raise their children, manage public resources, speak about others, and serve their communities.

According to him, integrity, accountability, and selfless service are the true marks of authentic faith and essential values for building a just and prosperous society.

He identified obedience to God, integrity of character, love for family, and service to others as the four fundamental pillars of a life rooted in faith, encouraging citizens to uphold these values in both their personal and public lives.

The President also acknowledged the growing challenges confronting families and society, including moral confusion, shifting social values, and the gradual erosion of the traditional extended family support system.

He called on Ghanaians to remain steadfast in their faith, strengthen family bonds, and preserve the moral values that have long served as the foundation of the nation’s development.

“Your character is a reflection of your faith,” President Mahama emphasised, urging believers to live lives that inspire trust, accountability, and hope within their communities.
