President John Mahama: “This Government Will Not Tolerate Arrogance or Disrespect”

Accra, Ghana – The President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, has delivered a clear and firm message to his government appointees, stressing that under his leadership, disrespect toward the citizens who elected them will not be tolerated.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony of six ministerial appointees at the Presidency, President Mahama underscored the importance of humility and respect in governance.

“This government will not tolerate arrogance or disrespect for the people who elected us into office,” he declared, emphasizing that public servants must honor the trust placed in them.

The President reminded the new ministers that their positions are a responsibility, not a privilege, and called for modesty and prudence to guide their actions.

“Modesty and prudence must be the guiding principle upon which you, myself, and our Vice-President fashion our governance,” he stated, urging them to lead by example.

President Mahama also highlighted the need for transparency and fairness, cautioning that the era of “business as usual” was over.

“The people of Ghana will hold us accountable for the trust that they have placed in our hands, and it cannot be business as usual. We must be transparent and fair in all our dealings,” he warned.

As part of his commitment to good governance, the President assured Ghanaians that anti-corruption institutions would be strengthened to ensure accountability within his administration.

“The anti-corruption institutions will be empowered to investigate and deal with any appointee who falls foul of the law,” he affirmed.
