Accra, Ghana – The President-elect, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, in consultation with the National Executive and Parliamentary Leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has officially endorsed the nomination of the Right Honourable Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin as Speaker of the 9th Parliament of the Fourth Republic.
Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin has had an illustrious career in public service, showcasing unwavering dedication and excellence in parliamentary leadership.
From his humble beginnings as the Member of Parliament for Nadowli, he rose through the ranks to become Majority Leader and subsequently served as the Speaker of the 8th Parliament.
His tenure has been marked by integrity, sound judgment, and a deep commitment to Ghana’s democratic principles.
With decades of legislative experience and a proven track record, Rt. Hon. Bagbin brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role.

In a letter from the Office of the President-elect, signed by his Special Aide, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, President-elect Mahama expressed his confidence in Rt. Hon. Bagbin’s ability to further enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of Ghana’s Parliament.
