President-elect John Dramani Mahama has described the 2024 elections as a divine opportunity for Ghana to reclaim its place as a beacon of democracy, economic excellence, and accountability in Africa.
He believes the results of the election reflect God’s desire to bring unity and progress to the nation.
Speaking during the 31st All Night Service at the Sanctuary of Wind and Fire Assemblies of God Church in Tamale, Mr. Mahama emphasized that the election was more than a political event—it was a call for Ghanaians to come together and work towards restoring the nation’s past glory.
“I believe that this election is a door God has opened for us,” John Mahama stated with conviction. “It is an opportunity for all of us to unite and move our country through that door so that Ghana can once again become the role model of democracy, economic management, and accountability in Africa.”
Restoring Ghana’s Legacy
John Mahama reflected on Ghana’s history as a trailblazer in African democracy and governance. Once celebrated as a role model for economic stability and transparent leadership, Ghana’s reputation has suffered in recent years.
However, he expressed hope that his new administration together with Ghanaians would work tirelessly to rebuild that trust and confidence.
A Call for Unity
The President-elect called on all Ghanaians, regardless of political affiliation, to rally together and contribute to the nation’s progress.
He highlighted the importance of collective effort, emphasizing that the country’s transformation could only happen through unity and shared purpose.
Faith in Divine Guidance
John Mahama concluded his message with an appeal for faith and perseverance, urging Ghanaians to trust in God’s plan for the country.
He acknowledged the challenges ahead but expressed confidence that, with unity and determination, Ghana would overcome them and emerge stronger.
“This is a journey we must take with faith,” he said. “God has opened this door for us, and He will guide us as we walk through it. Together, we will make Ghana great and strong once again.”
