In a significant move towards the establishment of his administration, President-elect John Dramani Mahama has unveiled a series of high-profile appointments to key positions within the Office of the President.

This announcement was conveyed in an official letter signed by his Special Aide, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, dated Monday, January 6, 2025.

The appointments are set to take effect from Tuesday, January 7, 2025.

Julius DebrahChief of Staff
Julius Debrah, a seasoned administrator and former Regional Minister, will bring his vast experience in governance and leadership to his new role as Chief of Staff.
He will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Office of the President and coordinate activities among various departments and agencies.

Dr. Callistus MahamaExecutive Secretary to the President
Dr. Callistus Mahama, a distinguished academic and public servant, has been appointed as the Executive Secretary to the President.
His role will include managing the President’s schedule, handling high-level correspondence, and ensuring efficient administrative operations within the presidency.

Prosper Douglas BaniHead of Interim Security Taskforce
Prosper Douglas Bani, known for his expertise in national security, will serve as the Head of the Interim Security Taskforce.
He will be responsible for coordinating security arrangements to ensure stability and safety during the transition period and beyond.

Dr. Valerie SawyerrSenior Presidential Advisor on Government Affairs
Dr. Valerie Sawyerr, a respected lawyer and former Chief of Staff, has been appointed as the Senior Presidential Advisor on Government Affairs.
Her responsibilities will include providing strategic advice on governance and policy implementation.

Augustus Goosie TanohPresidential Advisor on the 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development
Augustus Goosie Tanoh will assume the newly created role of Presidential Advisor responsible for developing Ghana’s 24-hour economy and driving initiatives to boost export-led growth.
His extensive experience in economic development is expected to contribute significantly to the administration’s economic agenda.

Marietta Agyeiwaa BrewLegal Counsel to the President
Marietta Agyeiwaa Brew, a renowned legal expert and former Attorney General, has been appointed as the Legal Counsel to the President.
She will provide legal guidance on presidential matters and ensure adherence to constitutional and legal frameworks.

Felix Kwakye OfosuActing Spokesperson to the President
Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Special Aide to the President-elect, will also serve as Acting Spokesperson to the President.
In this role, he will communicate the President’s policies, decisions, and activities to the public and media.
