President Akufo-Addo pledges that the killers of Ahmed Suale will be found and prosecuted

The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has given the assurance that the killers of the late journalist, Ahmed Suale will be brought to book no matter how long it takes. He gave the assurance at the closing ceremony of the 3rd African Media Convention in Accra today. According to President Akufo-Addo, despite the delay in finding the murderers of Ahmed Suale, his government is determined to find the killers of the late journalist.

The President’s statement was in reaction to a request by the President of the Africa Editors Forum, Churchill Otieno who said that five years after the murder of Ahmed Suale, his killers have still not been arrested and prosecuted.

President Akufo-Addo also charged African journalists to report on pressing issues like climate change and ensure that the issue is given all the attention it deserves due to its implications on our generation and future generations.

The three-day convention which was attended by journalists from all over Africa was under the theme, “Enhancing Freedom, innovation, and environmental sustainability in a dynamic media landscape.”

The President of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Mr Albert K Dwumfour expressed the appreciation of the African Media Convention to the President and government of Ghana for the tremendous support they provided to the GJA to ensure the success of the Convention.

Ethiopia and Morroco presented bids to host the 4th African Media Convention and the steering committee will announce the venue for the 4th AMC in sixty days time.
