Deputy National Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Malik Basintale has indicated that the president of the republic, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo did not grow up in Ghana if not, he would have learned that there are things you cannot do to adults in public.
According to him, kids growing up in the country were trained that, even when an elderly person guffs in public you don’t look in his eyes and tell him you have lied or you don’t attack and criticized him just the way you want to do in public.
During the national anthem, the president spotted the chief of Mempeasem in Accra, Nii Torgbor Obodai Ampaw, and his elders seated.
The president directed the Greater Accra Regional Minister to quickly call them to order.
The event was at the University of Ghana campus, where dignitaries gathered to grace the Green Ghana Day initiative on Friday, June 9, 2023.
Reacting to this, Mr Basintale reminded the president that in the Upper East region, he stood on the Ghana flag and addressed the crowd which is also wrong.
“If President Akufo Addo were so patriotic as he claimed, he would have told them that the Ghana flag he was to walk on was unpatriotic” he added.
Speaking in an interview monitored by Onokwafo Yaw Asiedu of Ahotor FM, the deputy communication officer of the NDC asked the president if he would have taken it lightly should someone correct him of his misconduct.
