The Black Satellites, Ghana’s U-20 national team, are set to participate in a 4-Nation tournament in Morocco from March 17-25, as part of their preparations for the TotalEnergies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote D’Ivoire.
This tournament will provide the technical team with a valuable opportunity to assess the players’ strength and tactics against top-notch teams on the continent.

As part of their build-up to the tournament, the Black Satellites have been engaging in friendly matches against various Premier League clubs, including Accra Hearts of Oak, Nations FC, and Heart of Lions, as well as lower-tier sides in Accra.
These matches have helped the team to fine-tune their skills and strategies ahead of the African Youth Championship.
The 4-Nation tournament in Morocco will feature Ghana, Morocco, and two other teams, providing a platform for the Black Satellites to test their mettle against strong opponents.
The team has been drawn in Group A alongside host Cote D’Ivoire, Tanzania, DR Congo, and one team from the Central African Football Federations Union (UNIFAC) for the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to take place from April 26 to May 18, 2025.
Ghana boasts an impressive record in the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, having won the tournament four times: in 1993, 1999, 2009, and 2021.
The team is considered one of the powerhouses in African youth football, having also won the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Egypt in 2009. With their rich history and experience, the Black Satellites are poised to make a strong impact in the upcoming tournament.
