Porcupine Warriors Stumble Again as Dreams FC Extend Kotoko’s Losing Streak

Asante Kotoko endured yet another frustrating outing as they slumped to a 2–0 defeat against Dreams FC on matchday 30 of the Ghana Premier League, a result that not only compounds their poor run of form but also significantly dents their standing on the league table.

Once regarded as strong contenders, the Porcupine Warriors now appear to be losing momentum at a critical stage of the season, with this latest setback marking their third straight defeat and extending a worrying streak that has seen them lose every match they have played since April.

From the onset, Dreams FC looked the more composed and purposeful side, taking control of proceedings and unsettling Kotoko with their pressing and quick transitions. Their early dominance paid off in the 12th minute when Al-Hajj Oumar Nauffal found the back of the net with a well-taken effort, capitalizing on defensive lapses to hand his side the advantage.

The goal forced Kotoko onto the back foot, and although they attempted to regroup and push forward in search of an equalizer, their build-up play lacked cohesion and cutting edge in the final third.

As the game progressed into the second half, Kotoko showed brief signs of urgency, but their efforts were repeatedly thwarted by a disciplined Dreams FC backline and an organized midfield that controlled the tempo of the match.

The decisive moment came in the 53rd minute when Ebenzer Adade doubled Dreams FC’s lead, finishing off a well-worked move that exposed Kotoko’s defensive frailties once again. At 2–0 down, the visitors struggled to mount any meaningful comeback, with misplaced passes and a lack of creativity undermining their attempts to get back into the contest.

The final whistle confirmed another disappointing chapter for Kotoko, whose recent performances have raised serious concerns among fans and club officials. Losing four consecutive matches in the space of a month represents a dramatic dip for a club of their stature, particularly one widely regarded as a powerhouse and record holder in Ghanaian football.

On the other hand, Dreams FC will take great confidence from this victory, having executed their game plan effectively and secured maximum points against one of the league’s most decorated sides.
