Election researcher and pollster, Mussah Danquah in his thought on how the Tuesday May 23 by-election will go knowing the constituency is a stronghold to the New patriotic Party (NPP).
In his thought, about 26% of the people in the Kumawu constituency knows that, the government did not threat the late MP Hon Philip Basoah fairly but 62% does not think so hence the NPP winning the elections is possible.
But he made mentioned of the interest of former minister of trade and industry Hon Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng and the vice president Dr Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia winning the primaries to lead the NPP in the 2024 general elections which is also the interest of the NPP party as a whole.
According to him, despite the common interest of the two candidates, the party cannot afford to lose the Kumawu bye-election because it will have a dale consequence of their majority in parliament. Therefore, they have a common enemy or common goal to win the seat in Kumawu for the NPP party hence both Alan and Bawumia’s camp has come together for the interest of the party.
Kumawu decides on Tuesday May 23,2023. We live to see the outcome.
