Police Launch Investigation into Murder of Tanoso Chief

The Bono East Regional Police Command has launched a full-scale investigation into the shocking murder of Nana Owusu Korokor, the Akwamuhene of Tanoso, who was allegedly shot dead on his farm on Saturday, November 8, 2025.

According to initial reports, the tragic incident occurred in the early hours of the morning. Residents became alarmed when Nana Owusu Korokor failed to return home, only for his lifeless body to be discovered at his farm later that day. The news has since thrown the Tanoso community in the Techiman Municipality into a state of grief and outrage.

Police personnel promptly arrived at the scene to begin preliminary investigations. An autopsy conducted at the Holy Family Hospital in Techiman confirmed that the chief died from multiple gunshot wounds. However, the motive behind the brutal killing remains unknown as investigations continue.

Family members of the late chief have expressed deep sorrow and anger over his untimely death. Speaking on behalf of the family, Mr. S. K. Donkor described Nana Owusu Korokor as a peaceful, visionary, and development-oriented leader whose demise is a great loss to Tanoso and the entire traditional area.

> “We are heartbroken by this painful loss. Nana lived an exemplary life and was committed to the progress of Tanoso. We are pleading with the police to bring the perpetrators to justice,”

 

The Bono East Regional Police Command has assured the public of its determination to uncover those behind the crime and bring them to justice. It has also urged residents to remain calm and cooperate fully by providing any credible information that could assist in the investigation.

As the community mourns, many have called for increased security measures in the area to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
