Police Crack GH¢199,000 Gold Robbery Case, Arrest Three Suspects

The Western Central Regional Police Command has apprehended three suspects in connection with a gold robbery valued at GH¢199,000 at Wassa Afransie in the Western Region. The suspects are Felix Adjei (alias Africa or Nana Adjei), Kofi Appiah (alias Jesse), a company driver, and Emmanuel Kelvin, a Nigerian national. They allegedly stole 14 pounds of gold, two mobile phones, and an unregistered Toyota Corolla from employees of Mas Palasco Gold Buying Limited on April 4, 2025.

The robbery occurred while Kofi Appiah and another employee, Emmanuel Adu, were returning from a gold collection assignment. The attackers ambushed them, firing warning shots to intimidate before making away with the valuables. Following investigations, the police arrested Kofi Appiah at his residence in Wassa Akropong on April 21, 2025, and later captured the other two suspects at separate hideouts.

During the arrests, the police recovered an arsenal of weapons and ammunition, including a Jojeft pump action gun, a Calymm PDS pistol, 25 rounds of 9mm ammunition, an AA cartridge, two G3 bullets, and a locally manufactured pistol. Additionally, the police found GH¢65,000 in cash, believed to be part of the robbery proceeds. All recovered items are currently in police custody.

The Regional Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Desmond Boampong, confirmed that the suspects are assisting with ongoing investigations. The police operation demonstrates their commitment to tackling crime in the region.
