The Detroit Pistons extended their winning streak to seven games with a 106-97 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers as it marks their longest winning streak since the 2014-15 season.
Cade Cunningham led the Pistons with 29 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists. Tobias Harris contributed 20 points, while Jalen Duren added 12 points and 19 rebounds. Ausar Thompson also made a significant impact with 10 points and five steals.
For the Clippers, James Harden recorded 18 points and 12 rebounds but struggled with seven turnovers. The team was without key starters Norman Powell and Kawhi Leonard, which affected their performance.
At halftime, the Pistons held a narrow 51-49 lead. Despite a strong start by the Clippers in the third quarter, Detroit regained control and maintained their advantage throughout the remainder of the game. Late three-pointers by Malik Beasley and Cunningham sealed the victory in the final minute.
This win brings the Pistons’ record to 32-26, positioning them sixth in the Eastern Conference. Their remarkable turnaround from a challenging previous season is attributed to strategic veteran acquisitions and the development of young talents like Cunningham.
