Prophet Nicholas Osei, who is also known as Kumchacha and is the founder and leader of Heaven’s Gate Ministry, expressed his concern about the increasing use of smartphones in churches.
Speaking on Accra-based Okay FM, he highlighted a disturbing trend of pornography consumption during church services, which he believes has been made easier by the shift away from physical Bibles in favor of smartphones among churchgoers.
According to Kumchacha, people no longer come to church with Bibles but instead come with phones. He warned that it is possible for people to watch pornography while others are asking for quotations. Therefore, he called for worshippers to be vigilant and discerning, and to avoid engaging in activities that are inconsistent with the sanctity of the church environment.
While he acknowledged the advancements of the modern world, Kumchacha emphasized the importance of upholding moral standards and preserving the sacredness of religious gatherings.
