In a tightly contested Ghana Premier League clash at the Kpando Sports Stadium on Friday, December 12, 2025, Patrick Mensah scored the solitary goal in the 51st minute to hand Aduana FC a hard-fought 1-0 victory over hosts Heart of Lions.
The win not only propelled the Dormaa-based side, known as the Ogya Boys, back to the summit of the league standings with 27 points from 14 matches but also ended Heart of Lions’ impressive unbeaten home record this season.
Despite Heart of Lions dominating possession for large periods and enjoying sustained pressure, they were unable to convert their control into genuine scoring opportunities, failing to register a single shot on target throughout the 90 minutes.
Aduana, in contrast, proved far more clinical and efficient on the counter, managing three attempts on goal and making the crucial one count through Mensah’s well-taken strike—described in some reports as a precise left-footed effort.
This result marked Aduana’s third away triumph of the 2025/26 campaign, contributing to their overall tally of eight wins in 14 outings so far.
The victory provided a timely boost for Aduana under coach Aristica Cioaba, who praised his players’ disciplined and spirited performance, while Heart of Lions coach Bashir Hayford acknowledged the visitors’ stout defending despite his side’s efforts falling short.
Aduana now sit one point clear at the top, though their position could face challenges in the coming fixtures, with upcoming matches including a home tie against Hearts of Oak.
For Heart of Lions, the defeat dropped them in the standings, ending a strong home fortress run that had seen them unbeaten in Kpando prior to this encounter.
