Patrick Asford Boadu Declares Bid for NDC Weija-Gbawe Constituency Chairmanship

A journalist with Radio Gold 90.5 FM and the incumbent Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress in the Weija-Gbawe Constituency, Patrick Asford Boadu, has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of Constituency Chairman in the party’s 2026 internal elections.

Mr. Boadu said his decision to contest the position is motivated by a strong desire to empower the party’s grassroots and prioritise the welfare of branch executives, whom he described as the backbone of the party’s political structure.

According to him, his leadership will focus on strengthening the party at the grassroots level and ensuring that branch executives receive the support and resources necessary to effectively mobilise members and drive the party’s agenda within the constituency.

“Branch Executives First! Empowerment is my priority. A strong, motivated, and well-resourced grassroots structure is the foundation for the electoral success of our great party,” he emphasised.

The declaration coincided with his birthday, an occasion he used to express gratitude to party members across the constituency for their continuous support and camaraderie over the years.

“Today, I thank God for another year of life and service. I am deeply grateful to all comrades in the Weija-Gbawe Constituency for the support, friendship, and shared commitment to the growth of our great party,” he said.

Mr. Boadu further pledged to work closely with all party members to promote unity, progress, and electoral victory for the NDC in the Weija-Gbawe Constituency and across the country.

“Together, we will build a stronger and more united party structure that prioritises the welfare of our branch executives and mobilises effectively to secure victory for the NDC,” he added.

An accomplished media professional, political communicator, and public affairs analyst, Mr. Boadu has extensive experience in journalism, governance, and diplomacy.

He currently works with Radio Gold 90.5 FM as a Producer and Presidential Reporter and is also a member of the Presidential Press Corps, where he covers major political developments, governance issues, and national policy discussions.

In terms of academic credentials, Mr. Boadu holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management from Methodist University Ghana.

He also earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in International Relations and Diplomacy from Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration.

Currently, he is pursuing another Master’s degree in Public Policy and Governance at Methodist University Ghana, a move he says is aimed at deepening his expertise in governance systems, policy formulation, and democratic leadership.

Within the NDC, Mr. Boadu has played a key role in shaping the party’s communication strategy in the Weija-Gbawe Constituency through effective political messaging, media engagement, and grassroots mobilisation.

He believes his professional experience, academic background, and commitment to grassroots empowerment position him well to lead the constituency and strengthen the party’s structures ahead of future elections.
