Pairing NAPO with a ‘Joker’ don’t scare the NDC – Sam Pee Yalley

Sam Pee Yalley, President of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Professionals Forum, believes that the appointment of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as the New Patriotic Party (NPP)’s running mate will harm the party’s chances of winning the 2024 elections.

In his opinion, the combination of an arrogant Matthew Opoku Prempeh and an incompetent Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia spells disaster for the NPP.

During an interview on Ahotor FM‘s Simpieso show with host Emmanuel Martey, Sam Pee Yalley said, “We all know Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh failed in his roles at the Education and Energy Ministries. Pairing him with someone like Bawumia doesn’t worry the NDC at all. Ghanaians are fed up with this NPP government, and whoever they choose to partner with Dr. Bawumia won’t save them from defeat.”

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP’s flag bearer and the current Vice-President, has selected Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as his running mate for the December 2024 general election.

Last Tuesday, Dr. Bawumia met with President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House to discuss his choice of running mate. During this meeting, President Akufo-Addo provided his advice and shared his thoughts on the selection.

Dr. Prempeh, also known as ‘Napo,’ will be formally presented to the party’s National Council before being unveiled at a later date.

Ghana’s former Ambassador to India and Sri Lanka Sam Pee Yalley mentioned on Ahotor FM that the NPP could have appointed a serious candidate than Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh who could negatively impact the NPP’s chances in the 2024 elections with his utterances.
