The 2021-22 Ghana Premier League season was hailed by many as the best post the Anas expose and one that lived up to the expectations.
One of the standout players of the season was Lawrence Agyekum of WAFA having played 28 games in the season and helped his team finish third on the league log.
The midfielder has opined that WAFA’s best game of the season was against Karela United in Cape Coast.
In a live studio interview on Ahotor Agorokansie, Lawrence said both teams played very well, showed lots of class, quality and was an end to end stuff.
“My team’s (WAFA) best game of the season was against Karela United in Cape Coast. The game was a difficult one and both teams showed class”
Although goals from Augustine Boakye and Lawrence Agyekum gave the academy boys a 2-0 win, the young midfielder credited FIFA referee Daniel Nii Laryea for his performance on the day.
“The Referee’s performance on the day was excellent. He showed class and officiated the game to everyone’s satisfaction”, he concluded.
WAFA ended the season in 3rd place behind Asante Kotoko and champions Hearts of Oak.
