Robert Klah, the Public Relations Officer for both Charterhouse and the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), highlighted a recurring challenge that’s throwing a spanner in the nomination process.
Speaking with Obaapa Janee on Ahotor mmre, Klah pointed out that many artists are not providing all the required information when submitting their entries.
“One of the major hurdles we face is that artists often submit incomplete details,” Klah explained. “For instance, there are times when a song is written by two talented individuals, but only one name makes it onto the nomination form. This oversight not only undercuts the contributions of the actual songwriter but also complicates our verification process.”
“We rely on the full spectrum of information to accurately assess each entry. When details are missing, it creates challenges for us and can.” he said.
The PRO further emphasized the importance of diligence and adherence to submission guidelines.
“We encourage all artists and their management teams to take the time to double-check their entries. It’s crucial for the integrity of the awards that every contributing artist is recognized,” Klah added.
As the TGMA continues to celebrate and honor Ghana’s vibrant music scene, industry insiders hope that this reminder will prompt a more thorough approach in the submission process. Both TGMA organizers and Charterhouse remain committed to ensuring that every artist receives the credit they deserve on this prestigious platform.
