Ofori McCarthy Rallies Black Satellites Ahead of DR Congo Clash
Ghana’s U20 captain, Ofori McCarthy, has expressed the team’s readiness and determination to make a strong start against DR Congo in their Group C opener at the 2025 TotalEnergies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
McCarthy conveyed a confident message, saying, “We expect a very competitive game, but we are ready. Our preparations have been good, and the team is highly motivated.” He emphasized the importance of mentality and approach, adding, “We respect Congo, but we will give our best.”
As a four-time U-20 AFCON champion, Ghana brings a storied legacy into the tournament. McCarthy said,
“Our goal is to qualify from the group stage and take it step by step from there. We know what this tournament means to Ghana and to us as young players.”
The match against DR Congo is set for 18:00 GMT at the New Suez Stadium. The Black Satellites aim to make an early statement in their pursuit of continental glory.
