NRSA Warns RFA Chairmen Against Misusing FIFA Vehicles
The Acting Director-General of the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA), Abraham Amaliba, has cautioned Regional Football Association (RFA) Chairmen against using vehicles distributed under FIFA’s development initiative for personal or commercial purposes.
Eight brand-new Nissan Navara pickups were officially handed over to the RFAs through the FIFA Forward program.
Amaliba emphasized that the vehicles are strictly for football-related administrative and operational purposes, not for transporting goods like cement blocks or foodstuff, or for use at construction sites.
Their intended use is to support grassroots football talent identification and day-to-day operations of regional football administrators.
The NRSA will provide free road safety training and education for designated RFA drivers to ensure the safe and responsible use of the vehicles. This initiative aims to promote a culture of safety and accountability among football administrators.
The vehicle distribution is part of the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) decentralization agenda, which seeks to equip regional football bodies with necessary resources for efficient operation.
The partnership between the GFA and NRSA was further strengthened with the launch of a joint Road Safety Campaign in December 2024, aimed at promoting safe driving practices nationwide.
Amaliba’s warning underscores the importance of responsible use of public and donor-funded resources. By adhering to the intended use of these vehicles, RFAs can effectively support grassroots football development while setting a positive example of accountability and transparency.
