Member of Parliament for Nhyiaso constituency in the Ashanti region Hon Dr Stephen Amoah has indicated that, the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) will break the 8-year gene irrespective of who becomes the running mate to Dr Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia.
The Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry said choosing a running mate lies in the bosom of the flagbearer therefore, we should allow the vice president to choose the right one at the right time without any pressure.
According to him, though he has preferences on who he will like to partner their candidate ahead of the 2024 elections but he will not say it in public.
He indicated that, choosing a running is not based on elections hence the constitution permits only one person to do that and that is the flagbearer hence whoever he chooses becomes the choice of the party and they will rally behind that person.
He called on NPP folks to give the flagbearer more time to make his choice without any pressure because pressuring him will not bring the right choice.
