Deputy General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mustapha Gbande, has taken a swipe at the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), accusing several of its officials of deep-seated corruption.
In a strongly-worded statement, Gbande said that the NPP should be grateful to President John Dramani Mahama for his statesmanlike posture and restraint.
According to him, had he been in the position of President, “half of their [NPP] officials would have had to run from Ghana for being corrupt.”
Deputy General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mustapha Gbande did not hold back in his criticism of the governing party, suggesting that their survival in office is due largely to the tolerance and democratic values upheld by the NDC, especially under former President Mahama.
“NPP officials should be thankful to President Mahama,” Gbande asserted. “Because if I were President, I would not tolerate this level of brazen corruption. Many of them would be on the run by now.”
