NPP Should Thank God for Mahama’s Leadership Amid National Reset – Political Analyst

A political analyst Mr David Dunu has called on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to express gratitude for the return of John Dramani Mahama as President, stating that his leadership offers Ghana a chance to reset and rebuild amidst deep political divisions and economic challenges.

Speaking during an interview with Nana Dogbey on Ahotor FM on the current political climate, Mr David Dunu noted that Ghana is fortunate to have President Mahama at the helm during these critical times. According to him, if another leader with a vengeful agenda against opposing political parties had assumed office, the nation might have plunged into chaos.

“The NPP should thank God that it is John Dramani Mahama who has returned as president to lead this reset. His leadership style is one of reconciliation and rebuilding, not retaliation,” he remarked. “If someone with a vindictive mindset—driven by the bitterness and divisiveness we’ve seen from certain political quarters—had taken charge, Ghana would not know peace by now.”

He emphasized that President Mahama’s approach to governance is not only about addressing economic and social challenges but also about fostering unity and healing the fractures within the political landscape. “This reset we are witnessing under his leadership reminds us that rebuilding a nation is a deliberate process, and he is doing just that—resetting the country for the better.”

Mr Dunu urged Ghanaians to rally behind the President’s efforts and recognize the importance of unity in navigating the nation’s challenges. “This is not the time for division or political witch-hunting. It is a time for resetting, rebuilding, and moving forward as one nation under a leader who understands the value of peace and progress,” he concluded.

His comments highlight the crucial role of inclusive leadership in steering Ghana towards a stable and prosperous future, as the nation navigates its way through political and economic recovery.
