Parliamentary candidate hopeful for Bekwai constituency in the Ashanti region COP George Alexander Mensah retired, has denied allegations of accusing the flagbearer of NPP, Dr Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia of bribing delegates in voting against him.
According to him, he has never said it anywhere and knows a personality like Dr Bawumia will never do such a thing.
He said an alleged people came to his constituency and was giving money to delegates to vote against his candidature and the alleged person mentioned that he is from the office of the vice president who is the current flagbearer of the NPP.
Speaking to the media monitored by @Ahotoronline.com, Mr Mensah indicated that, he has followed up to the Vice President’s office and his checks can say, the alleged person lied against Dr Bawumia which means he has no hands in the money sharing in the Bekwai constituency
Rather, he said the driver of the car that drove to the constituency to share the money is the current IGP Dr George Akuffo Dampare’s driver which calls for some suspicions.
COP (RTD) Alexander George Mensah is confident that he will win the primaries to stand on the ticket of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) no matter what people will do in the constituency.
He is no 1 on the ballot paper with three other people contesting.
