There is an urgent need for concerted efforts to prioritize development in our communities, particularly by engaging indigenes from the Volta Region living abroad. These individuals can play a crucial role in mobilizing resources to support projects back home.
The Norvisi Foundation, a non-governmental organization, has been at the forefront of such efforts, spearheading initiatives that include youth entrepreneurship training, educational support, and the provision of essential amenities like clean water systems and toilet facilities. These projects are vital for promoting basic health standards and preventing outbreaks of disease in communities across the Volta Region.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Ghana Chapter of the Foundation, President and Founder Eric Selorm Botsoe emphasized the organization’s mission. He highlighted that while Norvisi Foundation is dedicated to the development of regions across Ghana, the Volta Region remains a central focus.
“Our goal is to enhance lives by providing basic social amenities, sustainable environmental solutions, and human capital development through vocational and technical training,” Mr. Botsoe stated.
The Foundation also offers financial support for small businesses and funds education for underprivileged individuals. In the health sector, it sponsors periodic screenings to improve the well-being of children, the elderly, and vulnerable groups.
Beyond that, the Norvisi Foundation extends its charitable reach to hospitals, orphanages, and prisons, donating funds, equipment, and essential tools to improve operational efficiency.
Through partnerships with local and international donors and other key stakeholders, the Foundation is committed to significantly improving the living conditions of people in the Volta Region.
Carl Owuompesika, Chairman of the Ghana Chapter, urged citizens to take pride in their cultural heritage and actively participate in regional development. “We must protect our identity and support charity-driven efforts to uplift our communities and bring hope to those living in poverty,” he said.
Echoing this call, Executive Member Client Kobla Agbodzie encouraged all natives of the Volta Region to rally behind the local chapter of the Norvisi Foundation. “We must complement the efforts of our diaspora branches and collectively work towards the sustainable development of the region,” he said.
