No Government Funding for Ghana Fans to Attend 2026 World Cup – Minister Kofi Adams

Ghana’s Sports Minister, Kofi Adams, has confirmed that the government will not be allocating funds to support fans traveling to the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

The announcement was made in light of the country’s current economic challenges and the need to prioritize investment in local sports infrastructure.

While government funding is not an option, Minister Adams is calling on individuals and corporate organizations to lend a helping hand to fans who wish to attend the tournament.

The Black Stars are gearing up for the World Cup draw on December 5, and the minister’s statement has sparked a mix of disappointment and determination among Ghanaian football enthusiasts.

The government’s decision reflects its commitment to developing sports infrastructure in Ghana, ensuring that local facilities are improved and accessible to all. As the country looks forward to the World Cup, fans are being encouraged to rally behind the national team, with or without government support.
