A Security Analyst, Anthony Acquaye has expressed worry on tribal conflicts in the country.
According to him, tribal conflict is becoming a canker in the country and we need to find a lasting solution to it.
In an interview with Citizen Kofi Owusu on Adekye Mu Nsem this Wednesday, November 22, 2023, he reiterated the need for government to be more serious about the situation emphasizing that, curfew is just a temporal approach and has never been the best approach to deal with such issues.
“Tribal conflict is a challenge we are facing in this country. Curfew is just a temporal approach, we need to be more serious about it”.
The Ministry of the Interior has imposed a curfew on Nkwanta township in the Oti Region following a shooting incident that claimed Eight lives and left many others injured and hospitalized.
According to a statement released by the ministry, the curfew took effect on Tuesday, November 21 from 5:00 pm to 6:00 am in the Nkwanta South Municipality.
As part of the curfew, the ministry has also placed a ban on carrying arms and ammunition as well as other offensive weapons within the catchment area, warning anyone found in violation would be arrested and prosecuted.
