NKUNKU BAGS A HAT TRICK IN CHELSEA’S 5-0 DEMOLISHING OF BARROW

Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea recorded a 5-0 win over Barrow in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night at Stamford Bridge.

This was the second meeting between the two clubs, their last meeting was in 1948. Chelsea broke the deadlock in the 8th minute, forward Christopher Nkunku applied the finish after the ball was brilliantly lofted into his path by Joao Felix.

Barrow’s intent to make a comeback was cut short following a second goal by Christopher Nkunku who sneaked it in near the post with a back flick.

Joao Felix made it three with a well-executed free kick after Malo Gusto was brought down right in front of Barrow’s penalty box.

Barrow was having a night to forget at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea found the net again less than three minutes into the second half with Pedro Neto scoring his first Chelsea goal. Drewbury Hall nearly made it five but Barrow’s Paul Farman kept out his shot.

Barrow held on tightly till Farman’s blunder paved the way for Chelsea’s fifth with Christopher Nkunku scoring a hat trick.

Chelsea held on to an emphatic 5-0 win against Barrow confirming their qualification to the fourth round of the 2024/2025 Carabao Cup.
