The Member of Parliament for Nkoranza North, Hon. Joseph Kwasi Mensah, has cut the sod for the construction of an 11-kilometre road linking Odumasi and Dromankuma in the Bono East Region.

The project, being undertaken in collaboration with the District Chief Executive, Hon. Effah Patrick, is expected to improve road connectivity, ease the movement of people and goods, and boost economic activities within the constituency.

Speaking at the sod-cutting ceremony at Dromankuma, Hon. Mensah said the project forms part of his efforts to improve the road network in Nkoranza North. He explained that although the project is not captured under the government’s national “Big Push” infrastructure programme, he has been working to secure support for key roads in the constituency.

The MP expressed confidence that the project would be completed within 12 months, adding that plans are also underway to improve more inner roads across the constituency. He said the improved road network would help farmers transport their produce to markets more efficiently and reduce travel difficulties.

The District Chief Executive, Hon. Effah Patrick, also highlighted other development initiatives in the district, including the construction of school facilities, CHPS compounds, and the drilling of boreholes in 10 communities to improve access to education, healthcare, and potable water.

The Chief of Dromankuma, Nana Kwasi Baffoe, commended the MP and the DCE for responding to the community’s long-standing request for a better road. Residents who attended the ceremony expressed hope that the project would open up the area for increased economic opportunities and improved access to essential services.
