Nigerian Gospel Star Dunsin Oyekan Calls Out Piracy Over Re-Upload of “Code of Worship”

Award-winning Nigerian gospel singer, Dunsin Oyekan, has taken to X (formerly Twitter) to raise alarm over the illegal re-upload of one of his signature songs, “Code of Worship.”

The track, which originally featured on his critically acclaimed 2022 album The Glory Experience (Songs of Zion), has allegedly resurfaced across several digital platforms under unauthorized listings.

In a passionate post, Dunsin wrote:
“My X folks, I need you to help report and bring down a criminal and illegal upload on all digital platforms. Someone released CODE OF WORSHIP again. I released it on THE GLORY EXPERIENCE album in 2022.
Please wherever you find it, Report immediately. Thanks.”

Known as “The Eagle,” Oyekan has built a reputation for delivering music that transcends entertainment, ushering listeners into intense worship encounters.

His Code of Worship series, often presented live, emphasizes reverence, prophetic sounds, and unbroken intimacy with God. It’s this spiritual depth that has earned him a loyal following both within Nigeria and around the world.

Unfortunately, piracy remains a persistent issue in the music industry—gospel included. Despite the genre’s focus on ministry, gospel artists like Dunsin Oyekan are not immune to the challenges of content theft. Unauthorized uploads not only rob artists of rightful earnings but also dilute the sanctity of the messages they convey.

This latest incident underscores the need for greater vigilance in digital content management.

For Dunsin, protecting the integrity of Code of Worship is about more than music—it’s about preserving a sacred sound birthed in prayer and obedience.

But this incident is a reminder that een spiritual sound bearers must sometimes fight worldly battles to protect their call.
