The Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCO) has issued a statement apologising to its customers in the Eastern Corridor for the total blackout that occurred on the evening of Saturday, September 21, 2024.
According to NEDCO, the blackout was caused by a burnt underground cable, making it impossible to restore power immediately.
Efforts are underway to rectify the issue, and NEDCO is appealing to its customers along the corridor to bear with them as they work to fix it.
Currently, the entire Eastern Corridor is without electricity, bringing lives and economic activities to a standstill. NEDCO’s statement did not specify when power would be restored.
