Nebojsa Kapor Wasn’t Sacked, Evans Adotey Still The Technical Director-Medeama PRO Sets Clarity

The Public Relations Officer for Ghana Premier League outfits Medeama SC, Nana Effah Asare has provided clarity to reports which went rife on Monday that head coach Nebojsa Kapor was sacked.

It was widely reported that the Bosnian had been sacked despite signing two-year contract with the club.

Bosnian tactician, rather joined the Mauve and Yellows in December 2023.

Speaking to MaxFm, “Kapor wasn’t sacked, that’s the first thing. Nebojsa Kapor signed a one year contract and it has ended. We sat down with him to part ways on mutual consent” 

On his performance in the ongoing 2024/25 season, the communications expert expressed satisfaction about Kapor’s numbers until his departure.

”Oh, he did well. He accumulated 10points from the 21 we have amassed. His performance is not all that bad”, he said.

On Appointment a new head Coach

As the club looks ahead, technical director Augustine Evans Adotey has been appointed to take interim charge of the team until a new substantive head coach is named.

”Adotey been involved in every trophy Medeama has won in its history-The FA Cup in 2013 against Kotoko and the second one also against Kotoko and the Super Cup. Adotey knows everything about the club”, he said.

”Per Club Licensing, assistant coach can only take over for one month. Management is meeting this evening [Wednesday, December 18,2024] to decide on the nex coach”, he concluded.

On Medeama winning the league

The 2022/2023 premier league champions are hopeful of clinching this term’s league.

” I am emphasizing that if you want a team that will win this season league it’s Medeama, that one I will say it on countless occasions, the Board to the management know that Medeama will win the league”, he said.

Medeama will host Karela United on Sunday evening in Match Day 14 round of the season.
