NDC’s Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa Vice Chairman Aspirant Backs Asiedu Nketiah’s Call for Unity and Hardworking Leaders

Echoing National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah’s recent push for unity, loyalty, and retaining dedicated executives ahead of the internal primaries, aspiring Vice Chairman for the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa Constituency, Mr. Yaw Asamoah Buckman, has thrown his full support behind the leadership. Buckman, a rising star in the party, declared 100% backing for Asiedu Nketiah widely known as “General Mosquito” .

Buckman recounted when his appointment came and was posted on platforms like Facebook, with no one questioning his credentials. “He worked relentlessly at the constituency, regional, and national levels,” Buckman said. “Even while shadowing his boss, Malik Basintale, across the country, he always returned to his constituency to deliver.” What should have taken two weeks, Asamoah Buckman compressed into sleepless marathons four nights without rest to get it done. By day, he’d be back in Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa, providing financial support and personal engagement. With over 667 villages in the constituency, his footprint was everywhere; locals still recognize him as “the NDC guy who came to talk to us.”

This dedication wasn’t isolated. Buckman highlighted how his vehicle broke down on the constituency’s notoriously bad roads, yet they pressed on without complaint. Take the town of Bosom Ase, an NPP stronghold where the NDC had never won before. Buckman, alongside the Youth Organizer and dedicated team members, flipped the script. From his own hometown a place the NDC had historically struggled he assured the current MP of victory. With the help of hardworking branch executives, they secured both parliamentary and presidential wins.

Buckman urged party members to vocally champion these workers for retention. “The mandate lies with the branch executives,” he emphasized. “When voting time comes, they’ll choose those who earned it through sweat.” He confidently added that his own hard work has made his vice chairman bid uncontested no one dares challenge a proven performer.

Turning to the youth’s pivotal role, Buckman warned that now is the moment for young leaders to step up. “If we don’t act, our party won’t secure positions and without NDC in power, Ghanaians will suffer,” he said. He painted a stark picture of the economy under the current administration: prices skyrocketing overnight, unlike stable past years. Cooking oil, once 1,200 cedis for a large quantity, now costs 450 cedis for far less. “Even with 200 cedis, you can’t afford rice, oil, and sardines,” he lamented. Fuel prices have eased somewhat, but hardships peaked under the NPP, and Ghanaians are waking up to the reality. “This is the system they’re enduring people have seen the truth now.”

Buckman vowed to sustain this hard work, praying that visionary leaders prioritize Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa. “If we can’t transform all of Ghana immediately, at least let’s change our constituency for the better and leave a lasting name.” He always puts his constituency first in every decision. Becoming Vice Chairman is non-negotiable for him: partnering with the Constituency Chairman, offering ideas, backing him fully, and strategizing together will propel the NDC forward. “Unity and hard work that’s our path to victory.”
