The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Augustus Andrews Nana Kwasi, has made a powerful call to action, assuring party members that any form of intimidation will be firmly resisted before, during, and after the December general elections.
Addressing an enthusiastic crowd in Obuasi on Wednesday during the Ashanti Regional campaign tour of NDC vice-presidential candidate, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, Nana Kwasi affirmed the party’s commitment to safeguarding its votes in the 2024 elections.
He highlighted that the NDC has implemented a comprehensive strategy to prevent vote manipulation and ensure that every ballot cast for the party is counted.
“We are ready to protect the will of the people,” he declared, as he urged NDC supporters to show up in large numbers on election day and vote decisively for presidential candidate John Dramani Mahama, as well as the party’s parliamentary candidates.
Nana Kwasi took the opportunity to address the many stalled development projects across the Ashanti Region, criticizing the lack of progress in communities yearning for infrastructure.
He assured the gathering that an NDC government would collaborate closely with traditional authorities to accelerate regional development, focusing on completing unfinished projects and initiating new ones that meet the immediate needs of the people.
Women’s empowerment, he stated, will be a high priority under the next NDC administration.
Nana Kwasi unveiled plans to establish a Women’s Development Bank, designed to provide women with the financial resources and support needed to start and grow businesses.
“Empowering women is key to transforming our society,” he said, underlining that an inclusive economy would benefit not only women but their families and communities at large.
Nana Kwasi passionately urged the electorate to rally behind Mr. Mahama, emphasizing that a vote for the NDC is a vote for a reset—a chance to create jobs for the youth, foster a robust economy, and invest in social programs that uplift the underrepresented.
“With your support, we can build a better future for all Ghanaians,” he concluded, receiving resounding cheers from the crowd.
