NDC Will Prioritize Northern Region Development – Prof. Opoku-Agyemang

NDC running mate, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has assured the people of the Northern Region that the next NDC government will remain committed to the region’s development.

Speaking at a large rally during the parliamentary campaign launch for Hon. Haruna Iddrisu in Tamale South, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang emphasized that the NDC deeply values the support it receives from the Northern Region over the years and would not take it for granted.

She highlighted the Party’s development priorities, promising to create jobs through initiatives such as the 24-Hour Economy, the Big Push, and the National Apprenticeship Programme.

“Just as you have remained loyal to our party, we will continue to stand by you, the people of Tamale and the Northern Region.

Our next government will do even more for you,” she affirmed.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang also pointed to the transformative projects initiated by the NDC, citing the University for Development Studies and the Tamale International Airport as key examples of the party’s contributions to the region’s progress. She pledged that an NDC government would address challenges affecting Muslim communities, including lowering Hajj fares and expanding educational infrastructure in zongo areas, with plans to build three new Islamic Senior High Schools across the country.

The NDC running mate promised scholarships for zongo and inner-city students in fields such as law, medicine, engineering, and ICT.

Turning to Hon. Haruna Iddrisu’s campaign, she praised his dedication and called for continued support, describing him as an exceptional MP whose leadership is invaluable.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang also urged the electorate to vote for John Dramani Mahama as the next president, emphasizing that an NDC government would prioritize job creation and resetting the nation’s course.
