NDC Western North Communications Officer urges aspirants to shun personal attacks and vote buying

The Western North Regional Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sam Jerome, has urged aspirants contesting various party positions to avoid personal attacks, backbiting and divisive campaign tactics.

He cautioned that negative remarks against political opponents could affect their emotional well-being, urging candidates to conduct their campaigns with respect and maturity.

Mr Jerome said the goal of seeking party positions should be to strengthen the NDC and improve its operations, rather than pursue personal interests or use such positions as a pathway to future appointments.

He also warned aspirants against assuming that winning party positions would automatically guarantee them appointments or other opportunities, noting that such expectations could lead to disappointment.

He further urged delegates to assess candidates based on competence, leadership qualities and commitment to the party, rather than personal relationships or campaign promises.

Mr Jerome also condemned vote buying, urging delegates to reject financial inducements and prioritise the NDC’s long-term interests by electing capable leaders.
