The National Democratic Congress has indicated that it will be meeting some stakeholders over the 2024 voter register discrepancies.
According to the party, the meeting is necessitated after what the party described as an ‘unproductive’ engagement with the Electoral Commission (EC) on the same issue.
The party on September 17, led the Enough is Enough Demo and presented a petition to the Electoral Commission to address the concerns it raised.
The announcement was made by Dr. Omane Boamah, the NDC’s Director of Elections and IT, in a Facebook post where he called for a forensic audit of the register and the Electoral Commission’s IT system to restore public trust ahead of the December 2024 elections.
“This exclusive invitation is on the heels of our unproductive meeting with the Electoral Commission on the same matter.
“We maintain that the Commission must permit a forensic audit of the register and its IT system to restore trust ahead of the general elections on December 07, 2024.
“Note that the deadline of one week given by our National Chairman at the end of the nationwide #EnoughIsEnoughDemo ends by coming Tuesday… Stay tuned,” he stated in the Facebook post
