NDC suspends its Northern Regional Vice Chairman

The Northern Regional Vice Chairman of the NDC, Alhaji Hamid Gbewa has been suspended by the party with immediate effect.

The NDC suspended the Northern Regional Vice Chairman for three months to make way for further investigations into the alleged assault case.

The decision was reached at a meeting on January 16, 2024, between the Regional Chairman and Regional Secretary and the Functional Executive Committee (FEC), who were briefed about the assault on the Regional Treasurer.

In a statement signed by the General Secretary of the NDC, Fiifi Fiavi Kwetey stated, “At the end of its deliberations tge following decisions were taken in accordance with Article 48(1), 48(6) and 48(8)(b) of the Party’s constitution that with immediate effect, your membership of the NDC is suspended”.

The statement further noted that, the suspension of the Northern Regional Vice Chairman has been referred to the National Disciplinary Committee for adjudication.
