The NDC Station, a vocal youth group aligned with the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has raised serious concerns about what they allege to be the weaponization of recruitment services by the current government under President Nana Akuffo Addo and Vice President Dr. Bawumia.
The group argues that these practices undermine the principles of meritocracy, promoting favoritism based on political affiliation instead of qualifications.
According to the NDC Station, this situation deprives many deserving and qualified youth of opportunities in the military, police, and other recruiting services, negatively impacting national security and the integrity of these institutions.
They claim that since 2017, recruits within these services have been selected based on political loyalty to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), rather than competence, which the NDC Station warns could lead to a dangerous decline in the intellectual and operational capabilities of these critical institutions.
The NDC Station is urging all Ghanaians to stand against this alleged manipulation, calling for fair and transparent recruitment processes to restore equality and uphold the national interest.

Title: NDC Station Calls for Investigation into Alleged Politicization of Military and Police Recruitment in Ghana
Accra, Ghana
NDC Station, a youth political organization in Ghana, is calling on all Ghanaians to condemn the alleged weaponization of military, police, and recruiting services by Nana Akuffo Addo and Dr. Bawumia for their own political gains. NDC Station believes that this practice undermines equality, deprives qualified youths of job opportunities, and poses a threat to the security and integrity of the nation.
The NDC Station is deeply concerned about reports indicating that recruitment processes within the military, police, and other services have been influenced by political affiliations rather than merit and qualifications. The organization asserts that individuals loyal to the ruling NPP party have been favored over more qualified candidates, leading to a lack of intellectual capabilities among the personnel recruited between 2017 and 2024.
“We cannot allow the security of our beloved country to be compromised by corrupt political parties,” stated a spokesperson for NDC Station. “The recruitment of personnel into our armed forces should be based on merit, competence, and the ability to serve with honor and integrity, not on political loyalty.”
NDC Station is calling for an immediate investigation into these allegations and demanding a reassessment and reevaluation of all individuals recruited within the specified period. The organization emphasizes the importance of upholding the rule of law and ensuring that the security forces are free from political influence.
“It is vital that we restore the integrity of our security services and ensure that only the most qualified individuals are entrusted with the responsibility of protecting our nation,” added the spokesperson.
NDC Station urges all Ghanaians to join them in condemning this practice and calls for swift action to address the situation. The organization remains committed to advocating for transparency, accountability, and fairness in all aspects of governance.
It is believed by NDC Station that with the election of NDC and His Excellency John Dramani Mahama on December 7th, the practice of weaponizing forces will cease. Instead, the focus will shift towards recruiting youths based on merit and qualifications rather than party loyalty. This will help restore the much-needed integrity within all forces, as our lives depend on the integrity of these personnel. A vote for NDC signifies a commitment to equal opportunity and merit-based selection across all sectors in the country. The upcoming election in December holds significant importance, with equality, justice, transparency, and job opportunities all at stake. NDC Station urges all Ghanaians to unite in voting for these values and to remove NPP and Dr. Bawumia from power. It is long overdue for them to be ousted due to the hardships they have caused, their disrespect for the rule of law, and the democratic process. Ghanaians must not allow NPP and Dr. Bawumia to hold the presidency again.
