NDC Insight Urges Electoral Commission of Ghana to Demonstrate Leadership and Cease Being a Puppet for NPP and Dr. Bawumia
In a bold move to uphold the integrity of the electoral process in Ghana, NDC Insight is calling on Mrs. Jane Mensah, Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, and the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to cease electoral malpractices and demonstrate unbiased leadership ahead of the upcoming December elections.
The urgent call for action comes in the wake of the alarming disappearance of seven biometric devices intended for voter registration and verification by the Electoral Commission. NDC Insight expresses deep concerns about the potential ramifications of this incident on the credibility of the electoral process.
“We demand immediate action to investigate the disappearance of these crucial biometric devices,” stated a spokesperson for NDC Insight. “The Electoral Commission must provide an update on the whereabouts of these machines and address the public on this matter without delay.”
NDC Insight raises suspicions that the NPP and the Electoral Commission may have intended to use these missing machines for illegal voter registration, casting doubts on the credibility of the electoral process. We are calling on the Electoral Commission to release CCTV footage to the public for transparency and clarity.
“It is unacceptable that the Electoral Commission has remained silent on this matter, raising questions about their impartiality and integrity,” the spokesperson emphasized. “Until the CCTV footage is made public, we believe that these machines are being used for illegal registration purposes.”
NDC Insight stands firm in its commitment to ensuring free, fair, and transparent elections in Ghana and urges the Electoral Commission to uphold its mandate to safeguard the democratic process.
NDC Insight Calls for Transparency and Integrity in Electoral Process Amidst Illegal Registrations and Transfers of Votes
Following recent voter exhibitions revealing numerous cases of illegal registrations and transfers of votes without the consent of voters, NDC Insight is raising alarm over the alarming discrepancies in the electoral process in Ghana. We stand in solidarity with the demand for a forensic audit of the voter register to address these irregularities promptly.
The voter exhibitions have uncovered instances where individuals’ votes have been transferred to different regions without their knowledge, raising serious concerns about the credibility of the electoral roll. NDC Insight questions why the Electoral Commission Commissioner would object to a forensic audit if there is nothing to hide, highlighting the biases of the EC and the NPP in the electoral process.
“It is evident that the Electoral Commission is compromised by the NPP, leading to a lack of transparency and impartiality in the electoral process,” remarked a spokesperson for NDC Insight. “These illegal transfers of votes and registrations must be addressed immediately to uphold the integrity of our electoral system.”
NDC Insight emphasizes the need for the Electoral Commission to work collaboratively with all political parties without bias to ensure a fair and transparent electoral process for all citizens. We call for clarity on the illegal transfer of votes and demands accountability from the EC in handling these irregularities.
Moreover, the voter exhibitions have revealed names that were removed from the voter register due to multiple registrations, but investigations have proven otherwise. NDC Insight urges the Electoral Commission to rectify all discrepancies and restore the integrity of the voter register before the upcoming elections.
“It is crucial that the Electoral Commission takes immediate action to address these irregularities and restore public trust in the electoral process,” the spokesperson added. “The integrity of our democracy is at stake, and these issues must be resolved without delay.”
NDC Insight remains committed to advocating for transparent, fair, and credible elections in Ghana and calls on all stakeholders to uphold the principles of democracy and good governance.
