*NDC INSIGHT CONDEMNS NPP’S FALSE NARRATIVE ON SAMMY GYAMFI AND CALLS FOR FAIRNESS AND TRUTH*

*Accra, Ghana — May 13, 2025* — NDC Insight categorically condemns the recent false narrative propagated by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) regarding Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). The NPP’s attempt to distort an innocent act of generosity into a scandal is not only unjustified but also a desperate ploy to divert public attention from their failures.

The incident in question involved Sammy Gyamfi giving a gift of money to a lady in a public setting. Contrary to the NPP’s malicious portrayal, Sammy’s gesture was an act of kindness and generosity, intended as a simple gift. The situation escalated when the lady, ostensibly on a mission, abruptly snatched the remaining money from Sammy’s hand and left the scene. Sammy Gyamfi, a man of integrity and composure, chose not to react or escalate the situation. Instead, he quietly exited, exemplifying humility and restraint.

It is crucial to question the motives behind Agrada’s approach to Sammy Gyamfi, especially given her history of publicly insulting the NDC and even our President. Why would she, who has publicly insulted our leadership, suddenly approach a senior member of the opposition? The clear answer is that the NPP is orchestrating a smear campaign to tarnish the reputation of NDC leaders and shift public discourse away from their own failures.

The NPP’s current strategy appears to be focused on manufacturing scandals to distract Ghanaians from their mismanagement of the economy. Unlike the NPP era marked by daily scandals and exposes, the Mahama administration has maintained transparency and stability. The recent drop in the USD exchange rate from 16.73 cedis in December 2024 to approximately 12.37 cedis today is evidence of prudent economic management—yet the NPP machinery desperately seeks to divert attention from these achievements.

We stand firmly with Sammy Gyamfi, who has done nothing wrong by giving a gift in public. Instead, we condemn Agrada’s act of snatching the money, which amounts to theft and robbery. Such behavior should not be overlooked. We call on national security authorities to investigate this incident promptly and hold Agrada accountable for her reckless and criminal conduct.

Historically, the NPP government has had no qualms about public displays of wealth, from Bawumia handing out cash bundles to USD notes being found under beds in their tenure. Where was the outrage then? Instead of engaging in petty politics, the NPP should focus on uniting Ghanaians and providing a credible message about their plans for the nation’s future.

NDC Insight urges the NPP to cease their malicious propaganda and instead offer genuine solutions to Ghana’s challenges. It is time for constructive dialogue, not character assassination. Ghanaians deserve leaders who are honest, transparent, and committed to national progress.
