NDC Insight highlighted that the previous promises made by Dr. Bawumia in 2016 have resulted in disappointment and hardship for many Ghanaians. In contrast, former President John Mahama and the NDC have presented a comprehensive manifesto that prioritizes the needs of the people across all sectors of society.
The current economic landscape is dire. Many Ghanaians struggle to afford basic necessities such as kenkey and fish, while the cost of fuel continues to rise. The exorbitant tariffs on goods and the crippling duties on imported spare parts have created a perfect storm of hardship, yet Dr. Bawumia appears oblivious to these realities, focusing instead on app development for Waakye sellers.
They called on Ghanaians to vote out the NPP. Read their release.

NDC Insight Calls Out NPP and Dr. Bawumia for Ignoring Ghanaians’ Fundamental Needs Amid Economic Hardship
Accra, Ghana – NDC Insight today issued a strong statement accusing the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of being out of touch with the pressing needs of Ghanaians. As the nation grapples with severe economic challenges, the focus on digitalization by the Bawumia-led administration is seen as a distraction from the real issues facing the populace.
“Ghanaians are tired of sloganeering and empty promises. While digitalization is a worthy initiative, we must ask Dr. Bawumia and the NPP: on what foundations are these digital projects being built?” stated Dr. Anthony Sorkpah, Communications Officer of NDC Insight. “Without stable internet, adequate electricity, and affordable internet access, how can we meaningfully embrace digital solutions?”
“His claims of progress in digitalization shine a light on his ignorance of the immediate challenges our citizens face daily. We cannot have a digital economy without the infrastructure to support it,” Dr. Sorkpah continued. “Before we discuss digitalization, we must first stabilize electricity supply, ensure internet access is affordable, and address the skyrocketing fuel prices that are suffocating our economy.”
Mahama’s proposed 24-hour economy policy aims to revitalize the economy, while the Women Development Bank initiative will empower women entrepreneurs by providing access to working capital without collateral. Furthermore, the NDC plans to bolster the agriculture sector, paving the way for Ghana to export goods and strengthen the cedi against the dollar.
“The contrast is clear. The NDC is the only party truly in touch with the urgent needs of Ghanaians. We are committed to resetting Ghana’s economy and restoring hope to the people,” Dr. Sorkpah concluded. “We urge Ghanaians to vote for John Mahama and the NDC in the upcoming December 7th elections to reclaim our nation from the grips of economic mismanagement.”
