NDC has only one candidate in Assin South – John Mahama endorses Kofi Baidoo

National Democratic Congress (NDC) Flagbearer John Dramani Mahama has thrown his full support behind Stephen Kofi Baidoo, the party’s parliamentary candidate for the Assin South constituency in the Central Region, urging residents to cast their votes in favor of Baidoo on December 7.

Addressing a large gathering during his campaign tour in the area, Mahama emphasized that Kofi Baidoo is the sole NDC candidate in the constituency and a key ally in the party’s vision to bring transformative change to Assin South.

Mahama assured constituents that a vote for him as president and Baidoo as their Member of Parliament would enable the NDC to deliver meaningful development to the area.

He highlighted the importance of uniting their votes, emphasizing that split voting—locally referred to as “skirt and blouse” voting—where residents vote for different parties in the presidential and parliamentary races, could hinder the full realization of the NDC’s agenda for the community.

“The NDC has a solid plan with policies aimed at improving the lives of Ghanaians,” Mahama declared. “To implement these plans, we need the strength of numbers in Parliament, and Kofi Baidoo’s victory is crucial.

Voting for me without supporting him would make it harder for us to bring these policies to life, and we need unity to push for the progress we envision,” he said.

Mahama’s endorsement comes as the NDC seeks to strengthen its representation in Parliament, particularly in key constituencies like Assin South, where the party aims to win the seat and work in alignment with the community’s needs.

With December 7 fast approaching, the former president urged voters to stand firmly with the NDC’s candidates at every level to secure the transformative leadership the party promises for the region and the nation.
